Researchers at the School of Medicine have shown that two major pools of immune cells are at work in the heart. Both belong to a class of cells known as macrophages. One appears to promote healing, while the other likely drives inflammation, which is detrimental to long-term heart function.

The Mosaic Project announces important updates as part of efforts toward improving diversity and inclusion for students at WUSTL. The Bias Report and Support System is live, and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion is expected to open this year. A campus climate survey will be sent to all Danforth Campus students on Sunday, Feb. 16.
